Mighty Penguin drives Thunderbird, tames Lightning, uses Google, and eats BlackBerry

What a wonderful world we live in.

My cell service is Sprint/NEXTEL. I've had NEXTEL since 2000, and I am very happy with the service. It has been my habit to upgrade to the coolest phone at every opportunity. I recently purchased a BlackBerry 8350i. I never thought I'd own anything but a Motorola phone, but this phone is special.

For the first time, I have been exposed to a wireless world that is so good, it is easier to put my phone down (that's right, down) and enjoy life.

Using Mozilla Thunderbird (email client for Linux), Lightning (calendar add-on for Thunderbird), Google (GMail, Calendar, and GoogleSync), and BlackBerry, both my phone and laptop are constantly synced.

Contacts and Calendar. Make a change, everything else is updated within hours. What a concept!

It makes me feel connected to my wired and/or wireless life without feeling tethered to it. Anything is possible. I could fall in love today. Anything is possible.
