Why Chronicle?

My blog is not much of a blog. A real blog is from someone who would write everyday. I mean, that's what a blog is, a log of shit the person writing has experienced or appreciates, written on the web, hence web log, or just blog.

I don't put much stock in blogging, mostly because, day to day, I don't have much to say. Even week to week. I was at a high school reunion last year and was amazed to find someone had read one of my stories. So maybe I should write.

I keep thinking I need a gimmick to post. Something eye-catching. Something that says something about me, and/or the people I want to speak to. I wouldn't post my exploits in gaming. I like posting my problems and solutions in Linux. I could put my feelings down. I would never post them on facebook, but here, maybe I could, since there is less likelihood someone will say something back.

I had a dream last week that I was at a party. I saw someone walk by that looked exactly like Sarah. My heart stopped beating. I walked to her, and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around, and with a British accent, said "'ello?" I was heart broken, and got teary, which frightened the girl and she ran off. Isn't that dumb? I frightened a girl that exists only in my head, that looked like a girl that......well, has passed? I think of that dream, and think I hope she's OK. That's mental. Period.

Being that it is a new year, the first thing I did is break every one of my resolutions. I think it's really easy to "flip the switch" and put myself in the right frame of mind to see some of them through. I just have a hard time doing things for myself.

I found some music I downloaded years ago, and put 'em into Rhythmbox. The soundtrack to BLACK. The main theme is by Michael Giacchino, co-written by Chris Tilton. You can tell the music is Giacchino's'cause he repeats his refrain often, or makes his refrain sound different each additional time you hear it. That doesn't mean it ain't no good. The soundtrack is fucking awesome, and lends to the story so very well. The game is mostly about shooting. The game coined the phrase: "Gun Porn". But, the story is what draws you in, the music keeps you there. Early last year, there was talk of a sequel, but not much more since then.

Why chronicle? Well, I guess so I can look back on what I've written. When I do projects, I never take snapshots of the process. Maybe I should? I think everyday is too much for me. Maybe once a week?
